HL Mando, specializing in EV and Self-driving solutions, and AJ Daewon, specializing in real estate management service, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to commercialize AI self-driving patrol robots on June 9th. The vice presidents of the two companies, Choi Seongho from HL Mando and
Kim Jongsung from AJ Daewon joined the signing ceremony held at Pangyo Next M Center. 

With the MOU, the two companies hope to further promote their project to commercialize AI self-driving patrol robots (tentatively called “HA Patrol Robot”) for apartment complexes. The project is expected to create a successful business for both companies by integrating HL Mando’s expertise in self-driving technology and AJ Daewon’s expertise in apartment complex management service. They will begin by providing their service to Raemian Sur, an apartment complex in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do, with 3,143 households and forty-eight apartment buildings. The two companies aim to devise a usable solution for the target local environment within 2023 and launch the service in 2024. The HA Patrol Robot will guard the children’s playground in the complex, guide children along the school routes for safety, perform parking enforcement, monitor fire hazards, and serve other patrol duties.


“By cooperating with AJ Daewon, we can now provide a practical self-driving robot service to the public,” said Choi Seongho, the vice president of HL Mando. “We will do our best to make HA Patrol Robot an exemplary robot in the industry.”

Kim Hongcheol, the CEO of AJ Daewon, said “There has come a shift in the apartment management industry from being a labor-intensive one to IT-based technology-intensive one.” He added that HL Mando’s expertise in robot technology will play an important role in accelerating the digital transformation in the apartment management industry.”


HA Patrol Robot is an upgraded version of “Goalie”, HL Mando’s previous autonomous patrol robot model. HL Mando will optimize the recognition, driving, and other solutions for HA Patrol Robot to make it suitable for large-scale apartment complexes. Goalie has proved its performance in parks, Korean urban residential areas called “villa-villages,” and industrial complexes. Based on the technologies applied in HL Mando’s patrol robot, AJ Daewon, with its forty-year history of providing excellent property management service,
will plan and provide services conveniently suited to the routines and living patterns of the residents in the apartment complex. The official name of HA Patrol Robot will be decided by the two companies at the launch of the service.
