HL Participates in World Climate Industry EXPO 2023

2023.06.08

For a Sustainable Future

HL participated in the first World Climate Industry EXPO (WCE) from May 25th at BEXCO, Busan, Korea. With “the way beyond the climate crisis to a sustainable prosperity” as its agenda, WCE 2023 is where cutting-edge technologies and the most recent policies in the international climate industry field are presented. We will exhibit numerous future mobility technologies that could reduce the carbon footprint through energy-saving. By participating in the EXPO, we hope that we could support Busan in hosting the World Expo 2030.

HL will greet the visitors at its booth in the “Future Mobility” zone, where numerous electric/eco-friendly mobility companies and self-driving businesses from Korea and overseas gather. Three affiliate companies from HL groups — HL Mando Inc., specializing in EV solutions; HL Klemove Inc., specializing in self-driving solutions; and HL Holdings, the holding company — will share the booth and exhibit HL group’s future vision and state-of-the-art technologies.

At the HL booth, visitors will meet products equipped with the technologies from the three affiliate companies. In addition to seeing the technologies acclaimed at last year’s CES 2023, visitors can learn more about the technologies by experiencing HL Mando’s SBW simulator, HL Klemove’s Interactive Content, and many more.

HL’s Future Mobility Technology Lands on Busan

Now, let us look in detail what HL’s booth looks like! HL’s booth is at Booth D02 in the “Future Mobility Zone” at Exhibition Hall 1.

This is the façade of the HL booth at the center of the Future Mobility zone of Exhibition Hall 1 at the WCE 2023. The booth’s attractive design embraces HL’s brand identity features. With large LED screens at the front, visitors can watch HL’s technological competence on video.

On the left side of the façade screen is HL Mando’s booth. HL Mando displays its electrification parts that will lead future mobility, including its e-Corner Module and Steer-By-Wire. Also, using a simulator, visitors can experience the company’s cutting-edge technologies.

The e-Corner Module is an integrated electrification system that consists of brake, steering, and traction motors. This technology is promising in the future mobility industry, as the module can be applied to a broad range of vehicles, including compact-sized cars, large-sized vehicles, and Purpose Built Vehicles (PBVs). At this expo, visitors can see a sample of the e-Corner Module product and watch the module at work on videos. Right beside the e-Corner Module is the Steer-By-Wire (SBW) section. In the SBW section, visitors can see the product sample and experience SBW with a simulator.

Let us move over to HL Klemove’s booth on the other side of HL Mando’s booth. HL Klemove exhibits its self-driving solutions, ranging from Level 2 self-driving to Level 4 self-driving. Level 4 refers to completely autonomous driving by the vehicle without any input from the driver. HL Klemove’s booth displays an integrated self-driving concept, which merges recognition, judgment, control, and Artificial Intelligence into one component.

The booth exhibited products such as its high-performing RADAR with a doubled sensing range using a 3D antenna, LiDAR, hyper-high resolution camera supporting wireless s, Automated Driving Control Unit (ADCU), and Zonal ECUs.

With a miniature model car equipped with its self-driving products, HL Klemove helped the visitors understand better its self-driving solution and allowed them to see the next-gen architecture in detail. Besides the model car is the image of hocKey2CITY, a vehicle that tests HL Klemove’s technologies. In the image, the company placed a touchscreen displaying the parts for autonomous driving and allowed the visitors to read the information regarding each component in detail.

Lastly, HL Holdings’s booth at the center exhibited “MXM” (Maximum) in various colors. MXM, HL Holding’s high-performing tuning brake caliper, is showcased for the first time in WCE 2023. Officially launching this June, the MXM caliper is an after-market tuning product specializing in electric vehicles and high-performing vehicles. The caliper’s design focuses on effective and powerful braking of the heavy car body. With a powerful braking performance on electric vehicles, which are 25% heavier than conventional gasoline cars, MXM is expected to play a significant role in leading the accelerating trend of electrification in the automobile market.

This has been a brief tour of HL Group’s booth at the World Climate Industry EXPO! Experiencing the future mobility technology in person using a simulator must leave a big impression on the visitors. The WCE 2023, where you could meet HL’s future mobility technology, will be held until May 27th, 2023, at BEXCO, Busan, Korea.

HL is putting diverse efforts into leading a sustainable future, operating under an eco-friendly management system. Proclaiming to reach carbon neutrality by 2050, HL Mando operates a carbon-neutrality response team and engages in many other activities to reduce its carbon emission. Especially, HL Holdings, HL Mando, and HL D&I Halla are publishing an annual Sustainable Management Report, publicly sharing their objectives and progress on their sustainable management. Please support HL on its way to a sustainable future!
